History
The original GMC web site—launched in 1997—was created and maintained exclusively by GMC volunteer Cathy Frank. Cathy worked tirelessly with GMC staff and section volunteers, pouring thousands of hours into the site over the years to develop new pages and keep the site current. In Spring 1999, Cathy’s efforts were recognized when the GMC web site won a national award from Americantrails.org for “Best Local Trail Organization or Club Site.” The majority of the content you see on our new web site was developed by Cathy. The Green Mountain Club’s entry into the technical age would not have been as successful if it weren’t for Cathy’s generosity and dedication. Now retired from the demands of maintaining the GMC web site, Cathy continues in the web world with her own business Cathy Frank Computer Consulting.
