GMC Sections Fourteen GMC sections are geographically located chapters that maintain specific areas of the Long Trail and other trails. GMCers who belong to a section are often interested in meeting other members of the club, enjoying local outings, or working with other section members on trail maintenance. They receive outing schedules and newsletters from the section they join. Most sections have a year-round program of outings and social events.
