Cloudland Road, which provides access to an Appalachian Trail trailhead in Pomfret, Vermont, will be closed to non-local vehicles during the busy foliage tourism season from September 26, 2026 to October 13, 2026. The road is closed south of Barber Hill Road. Hikers can access the Appalachian Trail from the north (via Pomfret), and can depart the crossing heading south and will be diverted west on Barber Hill Road.
This closure is meant to alleviate excessive tourism traffic impacting private residences on Cloudland Road. Thank you for your cooperation.
