The Barnes Camp Visitor Center in Stowe is volunteer-run and operates on weekends during the hiking season (Memorial Day Weekend in May through Indigenous Peoples’ Day weekend in October). This volunteer role involves connecting with visitors and hikers to orient them to the area and make hike recommendations. Shifts are 4 hours on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays during the hiking season.
