The Long Trail
This rugged “footpath in the wilderness” is the oldest long-distance hiking trail in the United States, running 272 miles from Massachusetts to Canada along the spine of the Green Mountains. Its 88 blue-blazed side trails access some of Vermont’s most iconic natural spots.

Thru Hiking
Long Trail thru-hikers are called End-to-Enders, completing the entire 272-mile trail in one go, usually taking 21-25 days to complete. Hiking in sections of any length is another way to do it.
