Are extra shavings in a trashbag underneath the stairs? Behind the privy? Inside of the privy in a trash can?
Scan the privy exterior for rot, failed chicken wire, external trash, broken door handle, exterior holes, broken lid to resting side, etc….
A Site Map is a local map of the shelter, privy, access trails, the Long Trail, tenting area/platform, water source, etc….
Log/Register that lives at the shelter. Should be in a storage box on the shelter wall or in a gallon ziploc bag. Logs are typically composition-style notebooks.
GMC’s Leave No Trace on Waterproof Paper should be stapled to an interior wall in the shelter.
Directional signs are those that give directions of trail, to shelter, to road crossing, etc… Directional signs may have mileage, trail names, etc…
